The larger part of Carl Hansen & Søn’s portfolio comprises many of Hans J. Wegner’s furniture designs (the collaboration between Wegner and Hansen began in the late 1940s) alongside works by other designers both old and new.

In order to reach the entrance residents and visitors cross a bridge that traverses a moat surrounding the residence. Reconstructed on various occasions the present building’s oldest section dates from the baroque architectural period in 1670.
Stacked wood that sits next to the fireplace adds texture to the interior while artwork such as the yellow Pixel Deer by Jihoon Choi gives the living area a fun casual vibe. The dining area next to the living space features a custom square dining table crafted using reclaimed wood and the kitchen also epitomizes this ‘salvaged’ approach with unique metal bar stools.
It is one thing to give an old home a new skin and ambiance with a quick renovation but transforming it into an energy-efficient modern home is a completely different proposition.
A warm earthen color palette is used to ensure that the interior seems like an extension of the outdoors while complementing the wooden surfaces perfectly. The living area contains a snug living space with reading nooks and a fabulous kitchen and dining area with stunning ocean views that open up towards the wooden deck outdoors.
