Designed by Neumann Mendro Andrulaitis Architects the beautiful home has a refreshing gray exterior that complements the natural redwood deck outdoors perfectly. The deck and front porch become an integral part of the narrative of the house and extend the living space outdoors in a seamless fashion.
Features such as parquet flooring moldings and mirrors still leave much of the original flavor intact while the new roof deck neutral color palette contemporary décor and an open floor plan bring in the much needed excitement and class. Spread across five different floors the existing partitions between various rooms on each floor were removed to shape a breezier interior filled with natural light.
The double height living area with glass walls that open into patio is the place to be in this home and acts as the heart and soul of Casa IV. A large accent wall covered in wooden boards also features a warm sleek fireplace and a large piece of modern wall art that complements the room’s color palette.
It is one thing to give an old home a new skin and ambiance with a quick renovation but transforming it into an energy-efficient modern home is a completely different proposition.
The central garden of the house is its main social area and it’s flanked by the main living zone on one side and a home office and recreational wing on the other. Fold-away doors on both sides turn the living space into a passage between the front yard and the central garden!
