The larger part of Carl Hansen & Søn’s portfolio comprises many of Hans J. Wegner’s furniture designs (the collaboration between Wegner and Hansen began in the late 1940s) alongside works by other designers both old and new.
The street façade of the large private residence still retains its original look and it is only on the inside that one uncovers a more contemporary backdrop. The lovely use of windows skylights and of course recessed and pendant lighting add to the glitter and warmth of the family house that seems like a relaxing holiday retreat.
Creating a flowing social setting with ample natural light is the main aim here and from our vantage point we believe the architects have achieved this goal with flying colors…
Part of a building that was originally designed in early 1900s the entire structure was in need of a cheerful makeover that found the precise balance between urban refinement and the existing old world charm.
In addition there are works by Kaare Klint Mogens Koch Mogens Lassen Fritz Henningsen and Ole Wancher among others. Adding to the home’s charm and appeal Knud Erik has also mixed in antiques alongside treasured mementoes that he collected during several years spent in South Africa and Asia.
